BioWorks is pleased to announce that the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) has reviewed the company's EPA registered product - SuffOil-X™ Spray Oil Emulsion, and approved the listing for use in organic production.
SuffOil-X controls insects, mites and foliar fungi, including powdery mildew, in a broad range of vegetable, nursery, ornamental and greenhouse crops. It works by suffocating eggs, larvae, and nymphs of adult soft bodied insects and mites.
SuffOil-X is a unique concentrate of pre-emulsified, highly refined, high paraffinic, low aromatic oil. Its pre-emulsification breaks down the oil particles so that a very thin, uniform coating of oil is applied to the plant. The oil smothers and kills pests with a very low risk of burn or stress to plants. Pre-emulsification also enables the product to dilute easier with water and more thoroughly than other horticultural spray oils, without requiring rigorous agitation to keep the mix in suspension.
SuffOil-X has excellent compatibility with pesticides labeled for use with oils, and has a 4-hour Restricted Entry Interval (REI).
BioWorks, Inc., a privately held company, provides environmentally responsible, safe and cost-effective solutions to the horticulture industry. BioWorks is a founding member of the BioPesticide Industry Alliance.
