Delegates from around the world attend Germains Seed Technology’s ISF Charity Boat Cruise

May 29, 2024

We are delighted to share the fantastic outcomes of Germains Seed Technology’s ISF Charity Boat Cruise! Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who attended and supported this meaningful event. With over 100 participants, we successfully raised 5,000€, which will be split equally between two remarkable charities: the ISF Seed Resilience Foundation and Voedselbank Rotterdam.

Our donation from the ISF Charity Boat Cruise is the inaugural contribution to the International Seed Federation’s Seed Resilience Foundation, a new initiative set to launch at the end of this year. The foundation aims to fund programs that promote the value of quality seed access and resilience, enhancing sustainable agricultural production systems across Africa, South America, and South-East Asia. These efforts are crucial in addressing food security, improving nutrition, and
advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The foundation’s programs will also foster partnerships with public authorities, supporting seed companies and farming communities while creating a policy environment conducive to sustainable agricultural success. By focusing on women and young people in the agricultural sector, these programs aim to uplift rural economies and expand opportunities.

Helping Voedselbank Rotterdam Fight Hunger

Our contribution to Voedselbank Rotterdam will assist in their vital work of providing food parcels to those in need. Voedselbank Rotterdam, the oldest and largest food bank in the Netherlands, operates exclusively with volunteers. Every week, they supply 6,300 households with around 80,000 kg of food that would otherwise go to waste.

The food bank serves multiple functions: supporting the poorest individuals in the region, acting as a regional distribution center for other food banks, and reducing food waste. Our donation will help ensure that more families receive the nutritious food they need during challenging times.

A Grateful Heart and a Bright Future

The success of our charity event would not have been possible without the generosity and support of our attendees. Together, we are significantly impacting global food security and local hunger relief efforts. We are proud to be part of such a compassionate and proactive community.
