Syngenta Seeds Canada offers higher genetic corn hybrid diversity for 2012

Arva, Ontario, Canada
March 2, 2011

Canadian corn growers will have even more choice when it comes to increasing overall yield potential and reducing risks from environmental stress for the 2012 planting season.

Committed to providing even higher levels of genetic diversity, Syngenta Seeds Canada, Inc. will be offering 17 new corn products for 2012 spring planting, including nine new Agrisure® 3000GT hybrids. Corn growers have come to rely on Syngenta Seeds to bring these innovative products to market.

While the Syngenta NK® brand corn hybrids containing the Agrisure Viptera™ trait are available for planting in 2011, four new hybrids will be added for 2012. This expands the offering to nine products with the broadest control of insects in corn trait history. The Agrisure Viptera 3111 trait stack provides protection against 14 different corn pests including unsurpassed control of the Western Bean Cutworm.

“This is the most exciting corn seed launch in the last 10 years,” says Syngenta Seeds Canada, Inc. Crop Manager David Townsend. “New and diverse genetics will provide the agronomic traits and yields we have been looking for.”

The new Agrisure 3000GT hybrids will give Canadian corn growers more consistent yields in 2012. This proven trait platform includes control of the corn borer and rootworm with the convenience of glyphosate tolerance.

New 2012 varieties are being tested in grower strip plots this year. For more information about the Agrisure Viptera trait and the Agrisure Viptera 3111 trait stack, visit www.agrisureviptera.com.
