Agdia’s TMB Peroxidase Substrate represents a new offering for all diagnostic providers in need of a robust and high-sensitivity source of this critical reagent featuring industry-leading lot-to-lot performance and stability.
TMB (3,3′,5,5′-Tetramethylbenzidine) substrate is used primarily as a colorimetric detection agent for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs).
When used in sandwich ELISA format, for example, TMB substrate reacts with horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibodies in the presence of the target antigen (i.e., a pathogen, expressed protein, etc.). This reaction results in a blue color indicating a positive result that can be visualized with the naked eye, or when used with a microplate reader, a quantitative value associated with the level of the target antigen present in a sample.
