Dave Hoar

Syngenta Canada Inc. has named David Hoar as Head of Key Accounts, Crop Protection. In this role, he will lead the national account management team and is responsible for the company’s channel strategy and delivering best-in-class customer service to our retail customers. He is based in Calgary, Alberta.

“Dave is a natural leader, excellent communicator, and has a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams,” says Shaun Vey, Head of Sales, Crop Protection. “Working with Dave over many years, I have come to appreciate his passion for customers, his ability to think strategically, build good relationships, and his desire for continuous improvement. It’s these qualities that have helped Dave be an extremely effective District Manager, consistently delivering results and developing talent for the organization.”

Hoar has held various roles within Syngenta since joining the company in 2002. He began his career as a Territory Manager in East-Central Alberta. He then moved into the marketing department in 2004 and managed the pulse crop portfolio along with the non-selective herbicide, fungicide and insecticide portfolios for the Canadian business. In 2007, Hoar was promoted to a District Sales Manager, beginning his journey of people development and sales optimization.

“I’m excited to engage with our national channel accounts. I look forward to enhancing our strategic alignment to our channel customers and creating opportunity throughout the Canadian agriculture industry,” says Hoar. “I’m grateful for the opportunities and the experience I’ve gained throughout my Syngenta career that will position me for success in this new role.”

Hoar has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Alberta.

He succeeds Dale Kushner who retired in January after more than 25 years with Syngenta and its legacy companies.
