TASAI participated in the Annual Congress of the African Seed Trade Association (AFSTA) held in Dakar, Senegal, on March 6-9, 2023.
Attended by more than 300 participants, the conference featured seed sector activities from 36 countries.
For its part, TASAI delivered two presentations during the plenary session.
The first provided an update on seed sector data from 15 TASAI country studies conducted during 2020-2022. The second presentation highlighted the top-ten lessons emerging from the TASAI research over the last few years.
The presentations were both very well received by the audience. In addition, the TASAI team had an exhibition booth, which provided the opportunity to share TASAI country reports and Data Summary sheets with conference participants. Importantly,
TASAI attended the conference as a new AFSTA member, having recently joined the organization.
The AFSTA Congress is an excellent opportunity to meet industry players from across the world.
In Dakar, our team met representatives from national seed trade associations from Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, and Uganda and delegates from institutions such as the International Seed Testing Association and the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, among others.
