The Australian Plant Phenomics Facility (APPF) is very pleased to be a supporter of the newly announced Training Centre for Accelerated Future Crop Development.

Announced by the Federal Minister for Education and Youth, the Honourable Alan Tudge MP, the Training Centre for Accelerated Future Crop Development is one of eight Industrial Transformation Training Centres established through the Australian Research Council (ARC).

“The Training Centres will equip our future general of researchers by giving students and postdoctoral researchers practical skills and experience through industry placements,” Minister Tudge said.

“This is great news for Australian agriculture, and we are looking forward to making our contribution to training a new generation of researchers to develop more profitable and resilient crops for Australian agriculture,” said the APPF’s Executive Director Dr Susie Robinson.

Students within the Training Centre will have the opportunity of collaborating with the APPF, access to controlled environment and field facilities, and benefit from the APPF’s expert technical staff.  As well as in-kind access to APPF facilities and technology, the APPF will support dedicated internship placement(s) for students and the provision of training workshops.
