On May 5, the governor of Nebraska signed into law a bill to prohibit treated seed in the production of agricultural ethyl alcohol, if such use results in the generation of a byproduct that is deemed unsafe for livestock consumption or land application.
Nebraska LB 507 was revised a number of times during its consideration and ended up including additional regulations relating to irrigation districts and elk hunting.
The bill was given emergency status and took effect when passed.
