From the latest developments with the Provisia® Rice System to high-yielding new Clearfield® varieties for your region, two new videos from Horizon Ag present the latest on products that give farmers an edge when it comes to maximizing performance and profitability in 2021.

Dr. Tim Walker, Horizon Ag general manager, presents an overview of developments for the Coastal rice production region, including how Horizon Ag PVL02 and the Provisia Rice System are enabling farmers to clean up costly weedy rice and resistant red rice infested fields, significantly improving productivity. He also discusses the potential for the latest Provisia variety Horizon Ag PVL03, which will be available in limited supplies this season in preparation for a full rollout in 2022.

Finally, Dr. Walker provides an overview and management recommendations for new CLL17, a Horizon Ag Clearfield variety expected to provide extremely high yield potential and industry-leading blast resistance for Coastal rice farmers. CLL17 has consistently out-yielded CL153, the top-planted Louisiana variety in recent years, in multi-year trials in the state and has solid ratoon crop potential. CLL17 also has proven to provide excellent milling yield and very good grain quality.

Covering the Delta for Horizon Ag, Dr. Sunny Bottoms, District Sales Representative, discusses the fit and key learnings regarding the Provisia Rice System in that region, as well as the availability of new CLL16 from Horizon Ag. CLL16, a Clearfield variety developed by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, has been described as the “complete package” because of its performance consistency, high milling quality and industry-leading blast resistance.

In addition, Dr. Bottoms presents the latest management information for two Horizon Ag Clearfield varieties released in 2020 – CLL15, a long grain variety from the Arkansas program that was bred for higher yields in the North Delta, and CLM04, a medium grain type that has consistently resulted in high yields and quality.
