AgReliant Genetics internships give students career head start - Company launches Seed Academy for all college levels

Westfield, Indiana, USA
October 16, 2020

Attending a career fair does not often result in an internship for college freshman. AgReliant Genetics, an industry-leading agricultural company dedicated to the research, production and sale of corn, soybeans and other seeds across North America, is changing that dynamic. Today, the company launched Seed Academy, a three-tier learning and development program that offers internship opportunities and post-graduation training programs for students at every level of their collegiate experience.

“For the last two decades, AgReliant Genetics has placed great emphasis on the personal and professional growth of our employees,” said Paul Nselel, president and CEO, AgReliant Genetics. “Today, we are thrilled to launch Seed Academy and extend that enthusiasm to help develop the careers of our future seed industry leaders.”

Like an academic institution, Seed Academy is divided into different learning levels - Build, Accelerate and Advance - which increase in difficulty and expertise required with each level. “Build” includes foundational, entry-level internships with seed brands LG Seeds and AgriGold featuring curriculum and experiences designed for college freshmen. “Accelerate” internships are intermediate-level opportunities for sophomores and juniors that span sales, research and production and couple academic learning with real-world problem solving. “Advance” positions are one-year, post-graduation opportunities in sales, research or production that result in full-time placement.

“We know immersive, hands-on work is an integral part of the learning experience that helps students apply their academic insight in a real-world scenario,” Nselel says. “Our Seed Academy is built on the understanding that it is never too early to start developing the skills to help launch a successful career.”

The Seed Academy is part of an ongoing effort to support the growth and development of future seed industry leaders and agricultural education. Earlier this year, the seed company committed to safely continue their internships despite the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, they pledge to provide experiences for 100 college students through their Seed Academy.

Seed Academy will be introduced to students and university liaisons across the country in the coming weeks as career fairs begin.
