Charles Snijders joins Takii Europe to lead Research & Development
Charles Snijders, nombrado nuevo Head of Research & Development de Takii Europe

Charles Snijders is appointed as Head of R&D at Takii Europe. Charles brings over 30 years of experience in the plant breeding industry. Under his leadership, the European R&D team will increasingly contribute to strengthening the company’s market position further.

As Head of R&D at Takii Europe based in De Kwakel, The Netherlands, Charles Snijders will play an important part in driving Takii’s global R&D strategy to accelerate innovation. In his role, Charles will oversee and manage all Vegetable, Flower and Home Gardening R&D activities at Takii Europe in the Netherlands, as well as all of the other Takii R&D entities across Europe. He will work closely with Takii’s leading R&D department in Kōsei, Japan, the heart of Takii’s R&D activities.

In his previous job as Breeding Director at Asur Plant Breeding, Charles was responsible for steering the development of hybrid and conventional wheat and barley varieties. Positions that he held before that include Senior Plant Breeder and R&D manager Europe at Zelder and Ball Horticultural Company respectively. Charles started his career as Research Scientist at Wageningen University & Research, from which he holds a PhD degree in plant breeding and MSc degree in tropical agriculture, entomology and quantitative genetics.

Charles Snijders ha sido nombrado Head of R&D de Takii Europe. Charles cuenta con más de treinta años de experiencia en mejora vegetal. Bajo su liderazgo, el equipo de I+D europeo contribuirá a un mayor fortalecimiento de la posición de mercado de la empresa.
