USA - Selecting the right Pioneer corn hybrids for 2021

USA
September 2020

Why should farmers select a diverse range of corn hybrids each growing season? The answer is to mitigate risk. Whether it’s resistance to local diseases and pests, or hybrids with good stalk integrity, one product can’t protect against everything. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of a field will help determine the best hybrid for certain environments.

In this video, Pioneer Field Agronomist Bill McClure provides Pioneer brand® corn product recommendations for farmers looking to maximize their yield potential in 2021.

P1082AM™ is an AcreMax® hybrid with outstanding top end yield performance, with great scores for stress emergence, drought tolerance, staygreen, root strength and stalk strength. P1108Q™ is a great dual purpose Qrome® hybrid, able to produce in more stressful environments, as well as having great top end yield potential in higher yielding environments.

P1572AM™ is a 115-day maturity hybrid with excellent Mid-Season Brittle Stalk and outstanding late season health to maintain yield potential through harvest.

P1185AM/Q™ is a 111-day food grade hybrid with good test weight, shorter plant stature, and great versatility for different environments.

Finally, P1359AM™ is a great NCGA hybrid with high yield potential, excellent stress emergence and late season health, as well as a great disease package.
