Nufarm is pleased to announce the promotion of Graham Collier to the role of Portfolio Manager – Canada. Graham moved into this position last fall and is based out of the Nufarm Canada office in Calgary, Alberta.
Graham joined Nufarm in 2014 as the Technical Services Manager for western Canada. He came from Syngenta where he was a Field Development Biologist. At Nufarm, he has focused on product development and agronomic training for staff, growers and retail customers. Graham holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in agriculture from the University of Alberta. He is currently completing his PhD at the University of Alberta focusing on the best management practices of ultra-early spring wheat seeding in the northern Great Plains.
“We are very excited to have Graham in this important role. He will be responsible for the Canadian portfolio strategy and will serve as North American cereals and seed treatment strategy lead,” said Mike Krull, Vice President, Portfolio Solutions. “At Nufarm he has provided a great deal of leadership on product development and agronomic training for staff, and customers.”
Collier said his North American focus on cereals and seed treatments presents a great opportunity for combining the broad Nufarm portfolio of foundational products with exciting new chemistries and technologies to develop differentiated product offerings. “I’m looking forward to developing and expanding our Canadian portfolio by taking advantage of our ability to be nimble. It is important to support farmers by making products available that fit their unique needs,” states Collier. “We have developed agronomically strong products concentrating on slowing down weed resistance development in Canada. I’m looking forward to expanding these offerings with sound agronomic decisions and development. We also have lots of other opportunities in other segments of the crop protection market.”
Innovation is driven from the ground up at Nufarm said Collier. “Our aim is to solve issues that farmers face both now and in the future. The best part of being on the Nufarm team is taking a great idea, working on it with a small group of people passionate about agriculture, and seeing it become a solution for the farm. For me, getting out of bed each day is worth it when you are delivering answers that grow profitability and long-term viability in agriculture.”
