Oro Agri and Idai Nature to market Orocide in Spain and Portugal

March 10, 2020

ORO AGRI, an OMNIA Group company, and Idai Nature, a biotechnology company from Valencia Spain, have reached an exclusive distribution agreement to market OROCIDE, an innovative natural product with fungicidal, insecticidal and acaricidal properties, in Spain and Portugal.

Farmer demand has increased the need for safe and biologically degradable products to treat their crops. This led ORO AGRI develop OROCIDE, a natural product derived from 6% Orange Oil.

As Carol Pullen, ORO AGRI General Manager Europe, comments, “Idai Nature is an excellent company for ORO AGRI to team up with as we have very similar views regarding the promotion of sustainable organic solutions to growers. This will effectively supplement our current distribution channels to target market segments not covered by our existing distribution network and other products. We believe Idai Nature will provide the necessary value-added service to educate growers about OROCIDE’s revolutionary multi-purpose, cross-protection, resistance blocking technology.”

A single spray of OROCIDE is effective in controlling many diseases and pests including; powdery mildew, downy mildew, thrips, mealybug, mites and whitefly. It is however safe on beneficial and non-target species, restoring the predator-prey ratios efficiently and sustainably as part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programme.  The existing product label includes around 36 pest/crop combinations and expansion plans are in place.

This new innovative technology, for the agricultural and horticultural sectors, is backed by more than 3,000 tests carried out on farms around the world, as well as a strenuous registration portfolio with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) studies in many European countries. Several more registrations are expected across Europe in the near future.
