After a period of 22 years with the company I have decided to take up a new challenge outside of the ornamental industry. It has been a privilege to work for Floranova and indeed with the wider global horticultural community in which I have made many life-long friends. It has been a real pleasure to work within the wider Syngenta organisation since the acquisition 18 months ago. The experience has been a great opportunity for me to professionally develop and I am grateful for the Syngenta senior management team for their support and encouragement. The success of integrating Floranova into Syngenta whilst maintaining a clear dual brand strategy has become increasingly evident and this strategy will continue to enable Floranova and Syngenta to service the global market highly effectively and competitively. I am extremely proud to have contributed to this new chapter in the development of both Floranova and Syngenta.
I am pleased to announce the appointment of my successor Tim Evans, who will take on the role of Managing Director. For a period, I will remain with the company and ensure a smooth transition of my responsibilities to Tim. Tim will also take on the commercial responsibility for the key accounts that I have managed to date.
Kate Monagnan
Tim will be supported by Kate Monaghan who has been promoted to General Manager from the position of Supply Chain Director. Kate will be responsible for the management of the Floranova head office site as well as the operations departments of the company enabling Tim to focus on the next stage of the commercial development of the business. Tim’s brief will include further establishing the company’s position in key markets such as Asia and the Middle East as well as building the best distribution model for the supply of Floranova and Syngenta genetics to our wholesale partners in Europe.
Tim recently joined Floranova from Wyevale Garden Centres where he was the horticultural buying manager. Tim has excellent experience in the horticultural industry and has also been the sales manager for Farplants; business development manager for Landgard UK; commercial director of Roundstone nurseries and a regional manager of B&Q garden centres.
I hand over the management of the company to the capable hands of two very talented individuals in Tim and Kate and wish them every success in their new roles.
