The American Seed Trade Association's Farm & Lawn Seed Conference, held in conjunction with the Western Seed Association's Annual meeting, will hold its Farm Seed Division meeting Nov. 8 from 8-9:30 a.m. in Kansas City, Missouri.

During the meeting, Ricky Rice of Advanta will provide a special sorghum outlook and Ed Jhee of U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service will explain the Biotechnology Quality Management System Program.

A special session in the afternoon will focus on wheat. Justin Gilpin, chief executive officer for Kansas Wheat, will give his perspective on the wheat market and Rob Bruns, head of AgriPro's NAFTA Cereal Seeds, will share what he sees coming down the pipeline for the wheat industry.

Dan Sharp of Sharp Brothers Seed Company will moderate both the morning and afternoon discussions.

These sessions are open to all registered conference participants. More information about the conference is available online at http://www.amseed.org/mtg_farm10_index.asp.

"As an industry, we have many opportunities to take advantage of and challenges to address," says Pat Miller, ASTA director of state affairs. "We are fortunate to have many passionate and knowledgeable individuals in leadership roles across the agricultural industry who are ready to step in and help at any given time."

Exhibit space and sponsorships for the Farm & Lawn Seed Conference are still available for $600 and $250, respectively.
