The following projects were recognized as 2019 shortlisted finalists. Winners will be announced November 12.

Best Formulation Innovation: i-Q4™ Technology for Inatreq™ Active Fungicide

i-Q4™ Technology for Inatreq active is an innovative, patented formulation system that optimizes the biological efficacy and reduces the environmental impact of Inatreq, a new cereals fungicide. The technology increases delivery of the active ingredient to the target, delivering exceptional biological performance at half the use rate of a conventional formulation. The technology also significantly decreases the potential environmental load of the formulation, as well as the manufacturing and distribution carbon footprint.

Loyant® herbicide is a new postemergence rice herbicide launched for the 2018 growing season. Loyant®, featuring Rinskor™ active, is the first new herbicide introduced for the rice market in several years, providing unmatched broadleaf, grass and sedge weed control. In support of the launch, Corteva initiated an unprecedented multimedia campaign highlighting the unique attributes of Loyant while connecting with growers’ passion for rice production.

Best Public Outreach Program: “Follow the Food”

Corteva is collaborating with the BBC on “Follow the Food,” an eight-episode documentary series designed to provide thoughtful and well-rounded information on agriculture and food production to a diverse audience. Launched in June 2019 and continuing through late 2020, this multi-channel outreach campaign is effectively reaching wide audiences with objective and balanced messages, allowing Corteva to share insights about agriculture and the innovations driving its future.

Best Packaging Innovation: 5L Angled Neck Fluorinated HDPE Bottle

Corteva is debuting an elegant and innovative packaging solution for the 2020 launch of Inatreq™ cereals fungicide formulated with InatreqTM active: a monomaterial angled-neck 5-liter bottle which represents the first package design of its kind in the agricultural market. This unique design improves production sustainability by minimizing operator exposure, allowing easy product pouring, total emptying and rinsing, and is easier to recycle.

At Corteva, we know that increasing global food demands, changing consumer preferences and rising pest resistance issues underscore the urgent need to discover and bring novel agricultural technologies to market. These include new crop protection active ingredients, seeds and trait technology, and an emerging set of diagnostic tools designed to create value for growers and benefits for consumers now and into the future. Corteva is rising to the challenge to meet these industry-driving forces and market needs while delivering solutions that reduce environmental impact. The result is a rich pipeline of novel integrated technologies, products, services and solutions.
