Novozymes has inaugurated its new Innovation Campus in Lyngby, 13 kilometers north of Copenhagen and seven kilometers from its headquarters in Bagsværd. With the location near the Technical University of Denmark, it is Novozymes’ ambition to create a global hub for biotech research.
The Innovation Campus is a 30,000 square meter construction with research laboratories and office areas, and it has room for 800 employees working in research and business development.
The low-rise buildings are surrounded by a nature park open to the public. Nearby, the Novo Nordisk Foundation will build a new learning center called LIFE. The vision for LIFE is to create a world-class learning laboratory that brings together educators and students and contributes to scientific learning and education in Denmark.
The inauguration of the Innovation Campus was celebrated with several hundred guests including Novozymes’ partners and neighbors in Lyngby. Together with Sofia Osmani, mayor of Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, and a group of pupils from local schools, Peder Holk Nielsen, President & CEO of Novozymes, cut the ribbon to celebrate opening of the new campus.
