With a mere six acres, Lawrence and Francis Beck started Beck’s Hybrids in 1937. Little did they know that Beck’s would become the largest family-owned seed company and the sixth largest seed company in the United States. Beck’s Hybrids is proud to present a 160-page history book titled, “The Beck’s Experience: 75 Years of a Remarkable Way to do Business.”
In the book, author Jerry Steadham, explains the spirited growth and experiences that have helped mold Beck’s Hybrids into the successful business that it is today.
“It’s a story of grit and determination, of faith and fortitude, of foresight and vision, of ingenuity and imagination,” said Jerry Steadham, author of The Beck’s Experience. “It’s a story of a remarkable family and a remarkable set of people who together, engineered a remarkable way of doing business.”
The Beck’s Experience takes you back to the beginning when the Beck family faced “Tough Odds,” but solidified a “Firm Foundation” and persevered. As the page numbers increase the Beck’s journey moves forward with Sonny Beck returning from college and then later continues with the third generation. Add in some great employees who worked to “Get the Right People on the Bus,” and the result is a remarkable way to do business.
“Even with all of the excitement, we can’t forget what we are celebrating – our history,” said Sonny Beck, president of Beck’s Hybrids. “Whether you are a part of our Strong Past, or are helping build our Strong Future, we want to thank our loyal customers, employees, friends and family for making this milestone a possibility.”
