In southern France, about 30 kilometers from Avignon, Certhon has started building a SuprimAir greenhouse for Poumo D’amour. This two hectare project will be used for the cultivation of tomatoes.

Because of high temperatures in the summer, the biggest challenge for the company of tomato producer Hubert Thierry, is managing the climate in the greenhouse, and keeping insects out. Therefore, Mr. Thierry chose a SuprimAir greenhouse in which climatic conditions are manageable with great accuracy. By creating positive pressure in the greenhouse, insects are kept out. This makes it possible for Mr. Thierry to achieve year round and high production, something that previously was not possible, due to high temperature and humidity levels in the summer.

It is not the first time Poumo D’amour chooses Certhon for a project: In 2003, Certhon was responsible for the installation of the boiler house and the heating system in the traditional greenhouse. With the current project, part of this traditional greenhouse is demolished and replaced by a state-of-the-art, semi-closed SuprimAir greenhouse. Certhon is fully responsible for the design and realization of the new greenhouse and the heating system. Supplemental lighting is not required in this SuprimAir greenhouse; there is sufficient sunlight in the Provence.

At this moment, the foundation of project Poumo D’amour is complete and the construction of the complex has started. The project is expected to be complete by mid-November this year, after which year-round production can get started.

Serre semi-fermée dans le sud de la France pour producteurs de tomates

Dans le sud de la France, à environ 30 kilomètres d’Avignon, Certhon a commencé à construire une serre semi fermé pour Poumo D’Amour. Après la réalisation de ce projet de deux hectares, les tomates seront cultivées.

En raison des températures élevées en été, le producteur de tomate sud-France MR Hubert Thierry fait face au plus grand défi de son entreprise dans la gestion du climat dans la serre et le maintien des insectes en dehors de la serre. Par conséquent, son choix est tombé sur une serre semi fermé, les conditions climatiques étant gérables et en raison de la pression excessive les insectes sont effectivement éliminés. Cela permet à Thierry de commencer l’année avec une production élevée, ce qui n’était pas possible en raison de la chaleur extrême en été.

Ce n’est pas la première fois que Poumo D’amour choisit Certhon: en 2003, Certhon était responsable de l’installation chaudière et du chauffage dans la serre traditionnelle.

Dans le projet actuel, une partie de cette serre traditionnelle est démolie et remplacée par une serre ultra moderne semi-fermé. Certhon est entièrement responsable de la conception et de la réalisation du nouveau système de serre et de chauffage. Une installation d éclairage supplémentaire n’est pas nécessaire dans cette serre; en Provence, il y a beaucoup de luminosité.

En ce moment, la fondation a été posée et la construction a commencé. Le projet devrait être terminée à la mi-novembre de cette année, après quoi la production toute l’année peut être lancée.

SuprimAir-kas voor Zuid-Franse tomatenkweker

In het zuiden van Frankrijk, zo’n 30 kilometer van Avignon, is Certhon gestart met de bouw van een SuprimAir- kas voor Poumo D’Amour. Na de realisatie van dit twee hectare project zullen er vleestomaten in worden geteeld.

Vanwege de hoge temperaturen in de zomer, zit voor de Zuid-Franse tomatenteler Hubert Thierry de grootste uitdaging van zijn bedrijf in het beheersen van het klimaat in de kas én het buitenhouden van insecten. Daarom is zijn keuze gevallen op een SuprimAir- kas, waarbij de klimatologische omstandigheden tot in de finesse beheersbaar zijn én door overdruk in de kas insecten effectief geweerd worden. Dit maakt het voor Thierry straks mogelijk om jaarrond te telen met een hoge productie, iets wat vanwege de extreme hitte in de zomer eerder niet mogelijk was.

Het is niet de eerste keer dat Poume D’amour voor Certhon kiest: in 2003 was Certhon verantwoordelijk voor de installatie van het ketelhuis en de verwarming in de traditionele kas.
Bij het huidige project wordt een deel van deze traditionele kas gesloopt en vervangen door de hypermoderne, semi-gesloten SuprimAir- kas. Certhon is hierbij geheel verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp en de realisatie van de nieuwe kas en verwarming. Extra belichting is in deze kas niet nodig; in de Provence is voldoende zonlicht.

Op dit moment is de fundering bij Poumo D’amour gelegd en is er gestart met de bouw van het complex. Verwacht wordt dat de bouw half november van dit jaar is afgerond, waarna de jaarronde productie gestart kan worden.
