November 20, 2015
Phytowelt GreenTechnologies GmbH in Nettetal, Germany, with R&D and production laboratories at the BioCampus Cologne, diversifies its service portfolio as from November 2015. By renting fully airconditioned and IT-controlled High-tech greenhouse facilities, the company is now able to cultivate plants under optimal, strictly regulated environments. Starting with key crops like wheat, barley and triticale, other species (rapeseed, vegetables, woody species and ornamentals) will follow soon. Phytowelt will establish new in vitro protocols, artificial plant growth media and genome doubling protocols according to customers’ needs. First projects started already in November 2015. Our new optimized induction of cell division, regeneration, rooting and doubling protocols completes the new service portfolio of Phytowelt. Each single step can be combined according to customer-specific requirements. Our ambition for the future is to offer highly efficient production processes with a high degree of automation. Inquiries from clients and project partners are most welcome. Furthermore, Phytowelt is now also offering additional services in breeding and cultivation including interbreeding programs, embryo rescue procedures and plant or seed propagation. Additionally, there are possibilities to expand the services in using field capacities in close vicinity to Phytowelt.
It is self-evident that protoplast fusion and regeneration of fusion hybrids will still play a significant role in the service portfolio of Phytowelt, particularly in the light of new breeding technologies, which are dependent on single cells and their efficient regeneration.
Phytowelt GreenTechnologies GmbH (PHY) is a company with international cooperations, providing products and services in industrial biotechnology, especially for the economic utilisation of plant enzymes (phytomining).
