A NEW easier to use formulation of Movento is now available for Potato growers!
For the last 3 years Movento 240SC has been a key management tool for potato growers in controlling the Tomato/Potato psyllid. The unique mode of action and 2-way systemicity of Movento provides effective and long lasting control of this pest. Now for this season a new easier to use formulation, Movento OD is available to potato growers.
“When using Movento 240SC the addition of Partner oil adjuvant was required” says Phil Bertram, Bayer CropScience Regional Manager. “Movento OD is an all-in-one formulation with the adjuvant built into the formulation. This negates the requirement for Partner oil, facilitating ease of use and less chance for mixing errors “adds Phil.
Other than a new use rate (560 ml/ha) the recommendations for using Movento OD in potatoes are unchanged. Phil notes “2 applications at 7 day intervals, applied to a developing pest population early in the season are recommended. Due to the OTEQ formulation (oil dispersion) formulation technology in Movento OD, no addition adjuvants (stickers, spreaders etc) are required”.
Phil adds “Movento OD also has a label claim for use in outdoor field tomatoes for psyllids but should not be used in any crops because of crop safety issues due to the oil dispersion formulation “.
Movento OD is IPM compatible and is suitable for use by growers wishing to implement an IPM programme.
