Bratney Companies, a leading innovator in seed and grain handling equipment, introduced a new Sheller/Drum-style Pre-cleaner that features a patent-pending cob door/shock system that makes it easier to service and has fewer moving parts for improved operator safety.

Designed for gentle shelling, the Innovative Conditioning Equipment (ICE) ES Series Sheller/ Drum Pre-Cleaner features a new system that virtually eliminates dynamic load/vibration issues for easier and less costly installations, compared to traditional reciprocating pre-cleaners.

“We have carefully redesigned the sheller/pre-cleaner and taken all suggestions from the field to make the new and improved models the best in the industry,” said Tom Johnston, ICE Sales Manager at Bratney Companies. “Those looking to update shelling operations will like how we used a modular design that allows for more versatility in new and existing installations.”

ICE ES Series Sheller/Drum Pre-Cleaners come in multiple capacities: ES2500 (up to 2500 bph), ES1200 (up to 1500 bph), ES250 (up to 300 bph), and ES120 (up to 150 bph). Strategic placement of a multiple point aspiration system means models requires less CFM.

A closed system design allows for more efficient dust control and added safety for operators. There are multiple inspection points, and a quick screen release system ensures fast cleanout between hybrids. New standard lock tabs on all sheller access doors and optional lock style latches on the pre-cleaner are designed to improve operator safety. Additionally, high strength and abrasion resistant materials were used throughout the sheller cage and rotor to help prolong the life of the machine.
