Syngenta Canada Inc. has received registration for Vibrance™, a novel seed care compound for stronger, healthier roots. The active ingredient in Vibrance is sedaxane, a new mode of action, which:
- defends roots against certain diseases carried in soil and air as well as against seed infection with best-in-class Rhizoctonia activity;
- combines systemic movement with ideal soil mobility;
- provides long-lasting protection of the entire root system through all critical crop development stages and under a wide range of environmental conditions;
- belongs to the Pyrazole-Carboxamide class of chemistry - a new succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) class of fungicides.
"Vibrance is the first Syngenta molecule developed specifically as a seed treatment - delivering the optimal combination of systemic movement and soil mobility," states Mitch Reid, Seed Care Asset Lead for Syngenta Canada. "Syngenta is incorporating Vibrance into a number of its market-leading seed treatments, further enhancing their protection and vigor capabilities."
The following is a list of Syngenta seed care products that contain this new ingredient:

Cruiser Maxx Vibrance Cereals, available in a pre-mix formulation, protects against insect pests such as wireworms and seed- and soil-borne diseases including Rhizoctonia spp., Fusarium spp., Pythium spp., general seed rots, seedling blight, true loose smut in barley and common bunt and loose smut in winter and spring wheat.
Vibrance™ XL®
Vibrance XL seed treatment is a pre-mix combination of sedaxane and the fungicides difenoconazole and metalaxyl-M. This seed care solution protects against seed- and soil-borne diseases of cereal crops including best-in-class Rhizoctonia activity for optimized root health. In addition, Vibrance XL controls general seed rots, seedling blight, seed-borne Septoria and true loose smut in barley, as well as common bunt, dwarf bunt and loose smut in winter wheat and a number of other diseases in spring wheat, barley, oats, rye and triticale.

Helix Vibrance seed treatment is a combination of the insecticide thiamethoxam and the fungicides sedaxane, difenoconazole, metalaxyl-M and fludioxonil. Helix Vibrance is registered in canola and controls insects including flea beetles, and diseases such as seed-borne blackleg, seed-borne Alternaria, and the seedling disease complex (damping-off, seedling blight, seed rot and root rot) caused by Pythium spp. and Fusarium spp. as well as offers best-in-class Rhizoctonia protection.
Cruiser Maxx® Vibrance™ Beans
Cruiser Maxx Vibrance Beans seed treatment is a combination of the insecticide thiamethoxam and the fungicides sedaxane, fludioxonil and metalaxyl-M. This seed care solution optimizes root health by adding the Vigor Trigger effect with rooting power. Cruiser Maxx Vibrance Beans protects against soybean aphids and seed- and soil-borne diseases such as Rhizoctonia spp., Fusarium spp., Pythium spp. and seed rots in soybeans.
Vibrance penetrates from the seed into the surrounding soil, forming a protective cloud around the seed, developing roots and the lower stem, which helps to strengthen the plant throughout its growing cycle. The compound has ideal soil mobility in a wide range of soil types.
Worldwide research increasingly points to root health as the key for future crop productivity improvements. It is estimated that 80% of all plant problems start with soil or root problems. Vibrance helps protect the plant from yield-robbing diseases enabling the seedling to develop a stronger, healthier root system, helping the plant fulfill its maximum genetic potential.
NOTE - These products have received federal registration; however they will not be available for purchase until July 2012.
