Pöttinger extends its range of side mounted rakes and presents a new generation with the TOP 722. This new side-mounted rake meets high expectations in practice regarding raking quality, perfect ground following and minimum forage contamination.

With a working width of 6.6 m the TOP 722 is the perfect addition to the harvest chain. Optimum raking quality and at the same time high working speeds are ensured with a rotor diameter of 3.30 m and each rotor is equipped with 13 tine arms. Despite this rotor diameter, the transport height remains below 4 m without removing the tine arms. As a result changing from working position to transport position or moving from one field to another can easily be done without leaving the tractor cab. A transport width is 2.52 m well within standard legislation requirements. A wider axle is also available for additional stability on slopes. The new main frame guarantees optimum stability and durability. The bolted joins between the individual components also increase strength and safety. The 350/50-16 tyres supplied as standard enable high transportation speeds. The rake can be transported easily and safely from A to B.
Right-hand swath placement makes things even easier
To increase operating comfort even further, the new TOP 722 is designed for right-hand swath placement, matching the right-hand configuration of all the tractor controls. In addition two optional adjustment cylinders can be fitted. These enable the placement of two separate swaths, this is controlled via an additional double-acting remote valve. Two matrix-controlled valves ensure perfect sequencing at the headland. This intelligent sequence control can be adjusted to the individual user’s needs and is active at the headland both for raising and lowering - ensuring that the rotors are raised and lowered at the right time.
As featured on other Pöttinger rakes, the TOP 722 has a headland clearance of 45 cm. As a result, swaths remain intact when driven over, no soil enters the swath and the swaths can easily be picked up on the next pass. The intact and well formed swaths enable the following harvesting machinery to perform at its optimum.
Perfect ground following, is of the most important criteria for rakes and was a vital factor in developing the TOP 722 The rotors' cardanic suspension enables perfect adjustment to all ground conditions by up to +/- 5 degrees. The standard 5-wheel active chassis features two tandem axles each and a jockey wheel within the arc of the tines guides the rotor with precision over every bump. Equipped with 16 x 6.5-8 tyres these active chassis’ guarantee smooth running. The tandem axles can be adjusted accurately using the proven spindle system - so the transverse angle can be set with precision. Additional 'Multitast' jockey wheels are available for operations on extremely uneven ground. The Multitast jockey wheels, which have been proven many thousand times over, make sure that the tines cannot possibly contact the ground.
The Toptech plus rotor unit has also been developed further to combine proven technology with new features: the new rotors with a diameter of 3.3 m and 13 tine arms possess several proven characteristics. On the TOP 722 Pöttinger offers the largest cam track diameter of 420 mm and a bearing spacing of 600 mm. Both these properties give the tine arms maximum strength with minimum stress on the arm bearings. The cam track can be adjusted according to changing forage quantities and harvesting conditions. The rugged rotor gearbox unit has its gears submerged in oil and securely sealed. A large diameter cam track guarantees smooth running and a long service life. The complete system is fully encapsulated and sealed to keep out dust.
New: the tine arms and shafts can be dismantled quickly and easily. The tine shaft can easily be removed and replaced if damage occurs. All you need to do is loosen two bolts, remove the shaft. Reassembly is a case of the installing the new shaft, tightening the bolts and you are ready to get to work again.
Additional driving comfort during raking can be provided by fitting the TOP 722 with weight alleviation springs for the rotors to ensure even smoother running and offer the rotors more protection. Being able to lift the rotors individually is a worthwhile investment, especially on farms with smaller fields. Remaining areas can be raked more efficiently using the optional individual rotor lifting. The Pöttinger TOP 722 is the solution for farms that demand high performance with intelligent technology.
