Bayer Canada launches Trilex EverGol SHIELD fungicide and insecticide seed treatment, designed to maximize ease of use

Guelph, Ontario, Canada

Trilex EverGol SHIELD

Bayer has announced the launch of Trilex® EverGol® SHIELD fungicide and insecticide seed treatment, in a convenient package that offers complete disease and insect protection against the expanding presence of pea leaf weevil and wireworms for pulse growers in Western Canada.

Trilex EverGol SHIELD is ideal for on-farm treating or for smaller batches towards the end of the treating season, and combines penflufen (Group 7), trifloxystrobin (Group 11) and metalaxyl (Group 4) with Stress Shield® insecticide seed treatment (Group 4) that together provide exceptional seed- and soil-borne disease protection against rhizoctonia, ascochyta, pythium, fusarium and botrytis.

“The launch of Trilex EverGol SHIELD in Canada offers a powerful tool for Canadian pulse growers against the growing threat of pea leaf weevil and wireworm, and puts the control in the applicator’s or grower’s hands” says David Kikkert, Crop & Campaign Marketing Manager, Soybeans & Pulses at Bayer. “This new tri-pak is offered in response to the expanding presence of these diseases and insects in Western Canada.”

Trilex EverGol SHIELD offers exceptional germination when compared to untreated seed, helping to promote a high-performing root system that supports optimal access to water and nutrients in the development phase. The result is a positive impact on plant stand and establishment, leading to healthier plant development, faster growth and higher yields.

“Most economic losses result from larva feeding on rhizobium or nitrogen-fixing nodules located on plant roots in field peas and faba beans,” says Kikkert. “The addition of Stress Shield to control pea leaf weevil and wireworm will offer Canadian pulse growers peace of mind and improve both yield and quality of their crop.”

Trilex EverGol SHIELD is a concentrated formulation; growers have the flexibility to decrease water volume when adding Stress Shield, micronutrients and/or inoculants. This extra control allows for an optimized application volume and uniform coverage, which helps prevent product overload, allows for low seed moisture content and makes for easier flow through equipment.

For more information regarding Trilex EverGol SHIELD, growers are encouraged to talk to their local retailer or visit cropscience.bayer.ca/TrilexEverGolSHIELD.
