Bamako, Mali

Sakata was in Bamako (Mali) for the SIAGRI exhibition. This event is set every two years and gather different actors of the agriculture sector as crop production, animal production and farm machinery.

We presented the top varieties for the current period :

Watermelon:

• Daytona F1 : This Crimson Sweet elongated variety with high yield potential convinced the consumers by its fruit content.  All components to make of Daytona F1 a 1st class watermelon for growers and consumers.
• Crimstar F1: Another Crimson Sweet veriety. Crimstar F1 is an early variety with nice fruits. The natural glossiness of the rind makes this fruits very attractive on shelves.
• Aswan F1 : This Sugar baby type variety is uniform and rustic with a good plant vigour. It is easy to grow and adapted to extreme production conditions. Its flesh is juicy and smooth with an excelent brix level.
• Top Yield F1 : This Kaolack/Charleston grey early variety has a high yield potential. It has an excellent fruit quality and its thick rind gives it a very good shelf life for long distance transport.
• N°161 F1: This Kaolack/Charleston Grey variety gives an early and productive production. Its fruits are attractive and its brix level makes N°161 a must have on the Central and West African market.

Peppers:

• Agide F1 : This lamuyo type early variety is dedicated for the field and non heated plastic tunnel production. Fruits are smooth with a thick wall and a long shelf life. This plant is vigourous and guarantee a good yielder.

Tomatos:

• Jampakt F1: This variety is recomanded for its high yielder, its vigour and its good leaf cover. Fruits are firm with an outstanding taste.

Squash:

• Aral F1: This productive variety has an outstanding fruits quality and a long shelf life.
• Lubna F1: This is an ideal variety for fresh market. Fruits can reach 3 kg without a quality or texture loss. Plants are vigourous and have a good resistance to powdery mildew.
