Last week the annual Open Days attracted a stream of international visitors. Bejo presented its varieties to the world. ‘Peace and quiet’ has returned to Bejo’s premises in Warmenhuizen.

“We were happy with the many compliments we received from the visitors about the ambiance, the demo fields, the tours, the mechanisation exhibition and the organisation as a whole”, says Robert Schilder, Sales manager Benelux and Scandinavia. “With satisfaction we look back on this week.”

Over 3,000 visitors moved around the world of Bejo this year. Customers and relations saw new and existing varieties in the demo fields. New this year was the lettuce assortment. During the mechanisation exhibition, we noticed extensive interest in measuring equipment, (self-driving) robots and planting, harvesting and processing machines.

‘Taste, Health & Innovation in Brassica’

Bejo organised an international symposium on ‘Taste, Health and Innovation in Brassica’. Growers, vegetable processing companies, research institutes and many other interested parties received information about the theme through a Product and a Market Forum. The speakers, Dr João Carlos da Silva Dias, Dr Nicole van Dam, Dr Kirsten Brandt and Henrie Korthout shared insights on the nutritional values and healthy properties of cabbages, glucosinolates as a natural pesticide and the benefits of the content substances. During the afternoon the focus was on trends in the consumer market. Speaker Elena Ozeritskaya took the participants on a tour of developments in consumer behaviour.

Bejo speakers Jeff Trickett and Daniëlle Bruin highlighted the marketing developments in the vegetable chain and Bejo’s new innovative concepts. This naturally also featured Coolwrap, the white cabbage concept, the kohlrabi concept Kohrispy and the purple sprouting broccoli. It was a very inspiring day during the Open Days.

Next year, the Open Days will be organised from 27 September until 1 October.

Internationale belangstelling voor Bejo rassen, mechanisatie tentoonstelling en Brassica Symposium

De afgelopen week was het tijdens de jaarlijkse Open Dagen een komen en gaan van internationaal bezoek. Bejo toonde haar rassen aan de wereld. De rust keert nu weer terug op het terrein van Bejo in Warmenhuizen. 
“Van veel bezoekers hebben we lovende woorden mogen ontvangen over de sfeer, de demonstratievelden, de rondleidingen, de mechanisatie tentoonstelling en de gehele organisatie eromheen”, aldus Robert Schilder Verkoopleider Benelux en Scandinavië. “We kijken tevreden terug op deze week”. 

Er zijn dit jaar meer dan 3000 bezoekers rondgeleid door de wereld van Bejo. Klanten en relaties hebben nieuwe en bestaande rassen op het demonstratieveld bekeken. Nieuw dit jaar is het sla-assortiment. Bij de mechanisatie tentoonstelling was veel belangstelling voor o.a. meetapparatuur, (zelfrijdende) robots en plant-, oogst- en verwerkingsmachines.

Ook hield Bejo een internationaal symposium over ‘Taste, Health & Innovation in Brassica’. Telers, groente verwerkende bedrijven, onderzoeksinstituten en vele andere belangstellenden deden nieuwe kennis op rond het thema dat gesplitst was in een Product Forum en een Market Forum. Sprekers Dr. João Carlos da Silva Dias, Dr. Nicole van Dam, Dr. Kirsten Brandt en Henrie Korthout deelden inzichten over voedingswaarden en gezonde eigenschappen van kool, glucosinolaten als natuurlijke pesticide en de voordelen van inhoudsstoffen. De middag stond in het teken van trends in de consumentenmarkt. Spreekster Elena Ozeritskaya nam het publiek mee in de ontwikkelingen in consumentengedrag. 

 Bejo sprekers Jeff Trickett en Daniëlle Bruin spraken over marketingontwikkelingen in de groenteketen en nieuwe innovatieve concepten van Bejo. Hierin was uiteraard aandacht voor het witte kool concept Coolwrap, het koolrabi concept Kohrispy en de paarse scheutjesbroccoli. Het was een zeer inspirerende dag tijdens de Open Dagen. 

Volgend jaar worden de Open Dagen gehouden van 27 september tot en met 1 oktober.
