HM.CLAUSE, the leading player in the melon seed business, once again organized a special melon and watermelon event at its research station in Murcia (Spain) during the first week of July. Primarily, the event welcomed the Northern European melon traders, retailers, processors and those focused on export markets.
The event generated a great platform to exchange views with industry professionals about melon and watermelon markets, trends, production processes and customer expectations. The diverse commercial line up, as well as the latest novelties, provided an enjoyable tasting experience and large diversity.

In white/green flesh melons, various yellow canaria varieties were displayed in the special event field. JANDAIA is the new commercial proposal of HM.CLAUSE for Murcia, while GEOS is an original premium variety.
The pre-commercial mini piel de sapo 4851 garnered significant interest from the visitors, thanks to a true mini size combined with the traditional piel de sapo features (nice externals and great internal quality).
In watermelon, main varieties are the seedless TROUBADOUR and TRAVELER (overseas counter-season) and the recent commercial seedless sugar baby CASILDA for Spain.
