- Expands farmer access to Syngenta germplasm and Agrisure® traits
Syngenta announced today that Phoenix® brand corn hybrids will be distributed by Advanta in the Southwestern and Western U.S. for the 2015 planting season.
“This new distribution agreement gives corn farmers in the Southwestern and Western U.S. greater access to our high-quality germplasm and Agrisure® trait technology through Phoenix brand hybrids,” said Ponsi Trivisvavet, president of Syngenta Seeds, Inc. and region director of Syngenta in North America. “This will be the first corn seed offering available from Advanta and we’re pleased to provide the technology that will help expand their portfolio.”
Texas-based Advanta is a leading international supplier of proprietary crop genetics and seed. Advanta will offer Phoenix brand corn hybrids with a variety of Agrisure traits including Agrisure Viptera® and Agrisure Artesian® technology for the 2015 planting season.
“As a High Plains company, we work hard to select high performance genetics for our customers. This extends our broad grain and forage sorghum portfolio to include corn hybrids for the unique environment of the Southwestern and Western areas,” said Steve Ligon, North American business director for Advanta.
