Regional Seed Production Manager

Location: Central California, USA

Do you have a passion for agriculture? 

We are looking for a results oriented Regional Seed Production Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit. 

The ideal candidate is an experienced seed production professional with a global mindset, a collaborative personality and the ability to lead teams in an inspiring way. 

What are you going to do? 

As a Regional Seed Production Manager, you will be responsible for realizing the highest possible seed production with optimal price performance ratio. To accomplish this, you give cultivation technical support and you have continuous contact with producers and international colleagues on the progress and quality of the seed production. You visit the production sites where you collect and record the data in our system and will use this for monitoring and analysis. You will work together in international and cross-functional teams where you will develop the production planning and determine where and how the seeds are grown. Your team The department of Seed Production is your workplace. You will report to the Global Director of Seed Production and collaborate with other regional seed production specialists responsible for other crops in other regions. You will direct, coach and motivate the local team of 2 seed production specialists, ensuring the team works in a cohesive way and is able to perform at their best.

You are a solution-oriented team player with a positive attitude and global mindset. You are analytical with experience in project management. You stay on top of the latest industry developments and are able to transfer this knowledge to your global team. You look for the best possible way to achieve goals and improve processes. This requires a good balance of independence and teamwork. In this process, you are able to connect and collaborate effectively with both internal and external parties. The international contact with producers and international colleagues requires flexibility. You can adapt your approach based on the culture and the local conditions. 

Requirements 

  • Master’s degree, preferably in Plant Sciences. 
  • At least 8 years work experience in (vegetable seed) production. 
  • Willing to travel internationally. 
  • Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills.
