Staff Research Associate, Strawberry Breeding Program
Location: Watsonville or Oxnard, California, USA The University of California, Davis Strawberry Breeding Program is looking to hire two staff research associates to assist in our research and breeding efforts. Our aim is to deliver genetically superior cultivars to both conventional and organic strawberry growers in California and around the world. We operate short-day and day-neutral breeding programs in California production environments. In conjunction with the breeding program, there is a robust research program focused on answering pertinent questions that provide useful and relevant information for use in the breeding pipeline.
The Staff Research Associates (SRA) will provide technical support to research on physiology, pathology and post-harvest research to include cultural management of the crop, as well as activities at each stage in the breeding pipeline. The SRA will be based in the main production regions of either Watsonville, CA or Oxnard, CA.
