MAIN GOAL :

Within our existing breeding program we are looking for a breeder. Main outcome will be to deliver new lines or hybrids to address the related Indian market .

JOB DESCRIPTION :

• Lead, manage and execute the planned crop breeding projects under set breeding SOP/timelines.
• Responsible for continuous development and identification of new inbred lines and hybrids through implementation of advanced breeding methods and tools.
• Responsible for timely reporting the crop/breeding updates/presentations and submitting tour reports to Lead/Sr. Breeder as per set guidelines.
• Responsible for all phases of field testing experiments starting from trial seed production to trial harvest.
• Regular follow-ups/updates/feedbacks to be taken from the product development team during the trialing season
• Data collection, data upload, analysis and generation of reports on time using statistical tools.
• Interaction and relationship with support functions (Bisco and Limagrain), other R&D staff within BU and other BUs for knowledge sharing, implementation of new technology and exchange of germplasm for future planning of research projects.
• Regularly integrate new emerging technology tools to improve work efficiency and execution of assigned responsibility.
• Collection and development of new germplasm from National and International Institutes and commercial hybrids.
• Proper coordination and interaction with production and marketing team to discuss the new product performance and placement in the exact market segment to get substantial gains.
• Interaction with scientists of National & International Institutes in workshops/conferences/seminars
• Manage budget cost centre and resources to attain the short and long term breeding goals.
• Adopting different means of mechanization in the breeding and trial programs to increase efficacy of different projects.
• Leadership, empowerment, training to the employees and create new opportunities of growth and development for existing employees.
• Corporate Social Responsibility: coaching entire team members on safety, security, health, environment and child labor in accordance of company policies and ensure its implementation.
• Ensure annual performance appraisal and people review management

PROFILE :

Education : PhD/MSc in Genetics and Plant breeding
Experience 5 years of plant breeding preferably hybrid crop
Interest/knowledge in molecular biology and plant physiology

CANDIDATE CRITERIA
Mininum level of education required : Master 2 or equivalent
Specific expertise : Agriculture
Minimum level of experience required : 5 years or more
