Sales Representative
Location: Torreón, Coahuila. México Keithly Williams Seeds has been specializing in the Vegetable Seed industry for over 35 years. We sell to professional produce growers through our highly trained and knowledgeable sales force. We have access to vegetable seed suppliers worldwide and a very vibrant product development department. Our division in Mexico is currently looking for a Sales Representative for the Torreón, Coahuila. México area.
Position overview:
This position is to give Keithly-Williams Seeds an on-site presence in the area of Torreón, Coahuila. México. This person will provide sales assistance, product development, complaint handling, collections, situation reports and act as a coordinating agent between the growing area and seed purchases in the state previous mentioned. He will actively participate in forecasting, company meetings, along with communicating frequently with management regarding orders, inventory, etc.
Educational Skills:
Successful completion of a four-year college degree program (B.S. in agriculture-related major is a plus) or five years of relevant working experience in agro business.
Experience and Background:
- Three to five years of experience in sales of vegetable seeds.
- Familiarity with product development of vegetable seeds.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Need English speaking skills to communicate with industry representatives and conduct oral presentations in a professional manner.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, emails and Windows operating System.
- Basic knowledge of Math (level II) which includes but is not limited to drawing and interpretation of bar graphs, along with other basic math functions.
- Basic knowledge of credit procedures.
- Experience in administration of inventory.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to be able of interact with customers and suppliers.
- Able to evaluate/analyze and record data accurately and consistently.
- Valid driver’s license in state of residence and good driving record.
Duties and Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
- Place and evaluate trials of new seed varieties. Promote new varieties with growers through field days and providing trails information to offer the best seed available in the market for growers in the area.
- Build a consultant type of relationship with growers of the area by keeping constant communication with customers to provide information about credits, collections, seed availability, prices, new varieties, delivery of invoices, and any other customer’s need that may exist to maintain a trusting and understanding business relationship.
- Responsible of increase sales by actively visit customers, promote seed varieties, taking orders, along with making calls for the sole purpose of selling. Maintain and grow sales for the Torreón, Coahuila. México location.
- Review AR report daily and be proactive in collecting accounts within 30 days of past dues. All payments shall be immediately deposited or wired to the company account.
- Responsible of bookings inventory with our different suppliers. Sales Representative needs to review open orders, sales history, and inventory report, prior year booking report and booking worksheet to have a close forecast of inventory.
- Participate actively in forecasting sessions, conferences, trade shows, and public and private vegetable variety trials. Provide input regarding new trends, types of diseases and any other facet of the vegetable production business in the area for future strategies.
- Administrate correctly all the material and economical resources provided by the company as equipment and tools to perform your position, economical resources are to pay for the expenses of your representation as sales man in the area.
- Maintain expenses within individual budgeted level and in accordance with company policy. Submit expenses report in timely manner along with proper documentation which has to meet current legal requirements.
- Responsible of reviewing inventory reports in a monthly basis. To keep low levels of inventory before any purchase; sales representative shall review his own inventory, check if another sales representative has inventory available, check if there is booking assigned to his account and if seed is not available in any of these resources his request of purchase will be authorized.
- When a Field Concern arises Sales Representative must notify to QA and Mexico General Manager. Sales Representative must go to visit the fields or the grower to confirm if it is a seed issue by investigating all factors as possible that caused a complaint with prompt response in a timely manner. Sales Representative must submit the Investigation Form with the field concern information to QA to put all data and product history together. If the Seed is an issue the Sales Representative must contact the regional or local supplier’s Representative.
- Maintain constant communication with Credit Department following up on credit applications, providing customer’s documentation to meet all the requirements of KWS and keep customer’s credit file updated.
- Maintain good communication with Customer Service Department to request customer’s orders, review open purchase orders, bookings and inventories. Keep sales orders updated and keep the seed status up to date; especially for seed that is not going to be sold.
- Establish plans and strategies to increase the seed market and sales of the area. • Maintain positive public image for Keithly-Williams Seeds.
- Maintain good business relation with suppliers, customers and coworkers.
