REPONSIBILITIES

Overall, the candidate will be responsible for development of commercially successful varieties of crops assigned and as per the directions provided.

It will involve interacting with other team members, pathology support and employing new technologies, willingness to travel at regular intervals

QUALIFICATIONS . REQUIREMENTS

• M.Sc / PhD in Genetics / Plant Breeding or Horticulture 
• Experience for at least 4 to 5 years in field crop or vegetable crop breeding; experience in tomato breeding in a reputed commercial organization will be an added advantage
• Should be able to perform independently and integrate as a team player 
• Knowledge and experience on molecular breeding approaches including marker assisted selection  
• Excellent communication skills, innovative ideas and analytical ability 
• Knowledge of breeding software
• Familiarity with market requirement and relevant genetics of the crop
