Head of Global Business Development and Sales
Location: Location negotiable Nature Source Improved Plants, LLC (NSIP) Nature Source Improved Plants, LLC is a US based company with divisions in the US and Mexico dedicated to the genetic improvement of plants. One division (US) provides genetic and breeding services to ag-seed and food companies worldwide (including both field and vegetable crops) through the application of its highly-developed portfolio of genomics based breeding algorithms and methodologies. The other division (Mexico) is dedicated to improvement, propagation and sales of key tropical perennial species, producing cash and specialty crops such as coffee, papaya, cacao, tea, oil palm and rubber. NSIP applies the most advanced breeding and propagation technologies to provide clients worldwide with planting materials with high performance, optimized product quality and high levels of uniformity. Clients of NSIP may be consumer goods companies, trading companies, large plantations, Governmental Organizations, NGO’s and small holders. NSIP’s goal is to become a worldwide leader in specialty and cash crops that have high potential for genetic improvement
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identify and contact potential clients for NSIP products and services
- Evaluate and negotiate services and sales contracts.
- Analyze and generate sales marketing reports.
- Continuously benchmark the market and develop and propose to the Board strategies and priorities of regional commodities and identity preserved crops.
- Represent NSIP at global conferences and product events.
- Help recruit, train, and supervise assistants as needed.
Position will involve significant international travel.
The short term career plan is to succeed the Head of Business Development, who reports directly to the CEO.
Location is flexible but will depend on future ventures and company needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Business Administration/Bachelor of Science or related field
- A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience preferably in agro science business
- Familiarity with agriculture and plant breeding a plus
- Good understanding of organization of and decision-making process in R&D within companies
- Proven track record in international marketing and sales
- Proven track record of being a self-starter
- Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship building skills
