District Seed Sales Manager - Upper Midwest
Location: Iowa, USA The District Sales Manager (DSM) sells and distributes seed in their respective territory. The DSM reports to RSM and is responsible for seed sales goals based on volume and margin. The sales effort of the DSM is focused on recruiting seed sales representatives such as farmer/dealers, key accounts, and any other commissioned sales representatives. The DSM identifies, recruits, trains, and coaches seed sales representatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruits, trains and establishes goals for commissioned seed sales representatives
- Develops and implements technical and sales training programs for seed sales representatives
- Initiates, implements, and monitors seed test plots
- Develop budgets and sales goals for territory and implements sales programs to increase market share
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year College; or 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- General knowledge of Agronomics including fertility, precision ag, seed, weeds, insect, plant diseases, and other pests
- General knowledge of ag-retail: products, procurement of products, seasonality, facilities/equipment capabilities, etc.
