Sales Representative, South Eastern US

Location: South Eastern US

TERRITORY: South Eastern US (Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina)

POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION: Reports to the Eastern Regional Sales Manager

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Promotion of Enza products through key growers and local Enza dealers for sale through the Enza dealer channel in the assigned territory.

Summary of responsibilities:

  1. Sales & product development of Enza & Vitalis products for open field crops.
  2. Supports forecasting needs on Enza products for upcoming 3 year period in assigned area
  3. Develops an Enza network of key grower/shippers in the assigned area
  4. Oversees events in the assigned area (i.e. trade shows, dealer field days, etc.)
  5. Participates in breeder field tours in the assigned areas
  6. Maintain expense budgets in alignment with regional objectives

Brief description of responsibilities and duties:

  1. Sales & product development of Enza & Vitalis products
    • Works with our dealers network in the assigned territory to trial, promote and sell pre-commercial and commercial varieties.
    • Develops detailed trial plans with dealer reps in the territory and follows up with subjective data collection (observational) of those trials.
    • Responsible for pre-commercial and promotional trials of critical Enza products with the key growers of the targeted crops in the assigned area.
    • Leverages dealer reps in the assigned area to place additional promotional trials with the other non-key growers.
    • Works closely with the product specialists to develop a complete understanding on the adaptation of new varieties in the assigned area.
  2. Supports forecasting needs on Enza products for upcoming 3 year period in assigned area
    • Supports the building of a 3 year forecast pre-commercial and commercial varieties
    • Continual updates to the forecast on sales varieties during the current year.
  3. Develops an Enza network of key grower/shippers in the assigned area for placement of demonstration trials
  4. Oversees events in the assigned area (i.e. trade shows, field days, etc.)
  5. Supports R&D by arranging breeder tours in the assigned areas
    • Collaborates with team in coordinating grower and market visits for breeders to help them gain key insights to the area
  6. Maintain expense budgets in alignment with regional objectives
    • Participates in developing a yearly expense & sales budgets for the area.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

JOB PROFILE:

Education / knowledge

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant work experience in sales and marketing within the agricultural industry. Vegetable Seed industry preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the growing, packing and marketing of agricultural produce.
  • Must be fluent in English speaking and writing. Knowledge of Spanish is a definite plus.

  • A proven customer relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, assertive and clear communication with active listening skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent sales skills (gains trust, establishes a business objective, identifies customer needs, explores solutions, develops action plans, and overcomes objections through negotiation).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Independence

  • Performs the position / tasks independently under the responsibility of the respective Area Sales Manager.

  • Maintains a network of both internal and external contacts.
  • Participates in relevant Product & Sales Meetings and crop excursions.

Working conditions

  • Regularly works in the outdoors under varying climate conditions.
  • Makes frequent and/or long trips by car. (>50% of the time)
  • Some out of state and international travel may be required.
