Sales & Marketing Training Manager

Location: Westfield, IN

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Candidate will be responsible for sales and marketing training within AgReliant Genetics.  The main goal will be to support the business needs and objectives of the organization by developing greater selling agronomic and business skills within the existing sales and marketing organization.   Secondly, to develop coaching programs that will further develop the sales management skills of front line people managers within the sales and marketing organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, customer service and professionalism; responsible for promoting a positive image of the company and the sales and marketing department.
  2. Conducts sales training needs assessment surveys and maintains an on-going dialogue about training needs with the Brands and the sales and marketing department.
  3. Investigates, selects and coordinates development activities for various sales and marketing positions; evaluates and revises programs on an on-going basis; develops, writes and coordinates sales training manuals and teaching materials, works with specialists/consultants on special projects.
  4. Counsels with sales and marketing management and Brand Managers to recommend use of internal and external training resources.
  5. Establishes a sales and marketing training tracking system.  Track attendance and expenses for the Sales and Marketing and Human Resources departments. This includes tracking for Seed Service Fee requirements.
  6. Work with the Recruiting Coordinator to design, develop and conduct Sales and Marketing orientation program to introduce new hires to all pertinent Sales and Marketing training programs.
  7. Manage the sales and marketing training budget.
  8. Responsible for the preparation of sales and marketing training reports including a three year plan.
  9. Assist Corporate Marketing Manager with sales and marketing projects as needed.
  10. Other duties as required.

Duties and responsibilities may be revised as needed by the Corporate Marketing Manager and/or the V.P. of Sales and Marketing, either verbally and/or in writing.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

B.S.  degree or equivalent experience; creative ability, writing proficiency, good organizer, good public speaker at ease moderating large groups, ability to perform duties with minimal direction; ability to promote positive image of Company. A strategic business perspective with a broad working knowledge of organizational functions and how they relate to each other.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.  Strong computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred).  Agricultural sales experience is desired.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work required hours; ability to lift 25 lbs.; meet MVR guidelines and some over night travel required.
