Job Description
Located in Research Triangle Park, NC, the Nutritionist will work with the Feed Nutrition Team and focus solely on the Feed Project working closely with the Feed Project Manager, and the Nutritional Technical Service Manager.
The Nutritionist will assume responsibility for all nutritional research work for the grain and silage feed projects.
The primary focus will be the planning, analysis, delivery and communication of nutritional research results for each agreed work package within the feed trait portfolio.
The individual will work closely with the Feed Project Manager (PM) to compile a comprehensive view and record of project research activities and results. Further, this person will support the Feed Project by planning, budgeting and integrating the nutritional results into the overall project. Quality, transparency and communication of project nutritional data for both team and management reference are key objectives of the position.
Additionaly primary responsibilities of the position are:
- Management of all nutritional research trials for grain and silage Feed Projects including the planning, analysis, delivery and communication of nutritional research results for each agreed work package within the Feed trait portfolio.
- Recommend, plan and supervise academic and industrial feed collaboration studies to identify and support nutritional trait value.
- Evaluation, documentation and support of patenting of feed research trial results to enhance and maintain trait value.
- Assess, develop and apply state of the art methods and technologies for the nutritional research field.
- Serve on the Feed Core Team, routinely providing written and verbal reports to the team.
- Interface and closely coordinate work and analysis with the Seed Activities, Nutrition Technical Service Team and NutriDense Sales and Marketing to harmonize processes and documentation in the most transparent and user-friendly manner possible.
Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in animal nutrition required with at least five years of industry experience in the animal nutrition field. A lesser degree with specialized related experience may be considered.
- Strong interpersonal skills and evidence that candidate can successfully work in a strong team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with good command of contemporary written and audiovisual tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, and Office Suite software.
- Deep knowledge of scientific methods, nutrition and feed ration management tools, statistics, and others as needed, in the field of animal science.
- Prior experience conducting or managing animal nutrition research studies.
Preferred:
- Experience with database management software, i.e. Microsoft Access and / or Microsoft Project This position is within a job family and will be filled at a level applicable to the incumbent's qualifications.
