Sales Representative, Northeast USA
Location: Northeast, USA TERRITORY: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Mid-Western regions
POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION: Reports to the Sr. Sales Rep, Northeast USA / Canada
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Realizing sales and product development of Enza Zaden & Vitalis Organic Seeds varieties with customers in the territory.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Sales & product development of Enza & Vitalis products
- Supports forecasting needs on Enza products for upcoming 3 year period in assigned area
- Develops an Enza network of key grower/shippers in the assigned area
- Oversees events in the assigned area (i.e. trade shows, field days, etc.)
- Participates in breeder tours in the assigned areas 6. Maintain expense budgets in alignment with regional objectives
Brief description of responsibilities and duties:
- Sales & product development of Enza & Vitalis products
a. Works with the following dealers in the assigned territory to trial, promote and sell pre-commercial and commercial varieties: Siegers, Seedway, Rupp, Paramount and Rispens.
b. Responsible for promotional trials of critical Enza products with the key growers of the targeted crops in the assigned area.
c. Leverages dealer reps in the assigned area to place additional promotional trials with the other non-key growers.
d. Works closely with the product specialists to develop a complete understanding on the adaptation of new varieties in the assigned area.
- Supports forecasting needs on Enza products for upcoming 3 year period in assigned area
a. Supports the building of a 3 year forecast in ABS on pre-commercial and commercial varieties
b. Continual updates to the forecast on sales varieties during the current year.
- Develops an Enza network of key grower/shippers in the assigned area
- Oversees events in the assigned area (i.e. trade shows, field days, etc.)
- Supports R&D by arranging breeder tours in the assigned areas
a. Collaborates with team in coordinating grower and market visits for breeders to help them gain key insights to the area
- Maintain expense budgets in alignment with regional objectives
a. Participates in developing a yearly expense & sales budgets for the area.
b. Other duties as assigned.
JOB PROFILE:
Education / knowledge
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant work experience in sales and marketing within the agricultural industry.
Seed industry preferred.
- In depth knowledge of, and close affinity with the growing, packing and processing industry of the respective crop will be a plus.
Skills
- A proven customer relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Professional, assertive and clear communicative skills (verbal and written), including active listening skills.
- Has excellent sales skills (gains trust, establishes a business objective, identifies customer needs, explores solutions, develops action plans, and overcomes objections through negotiation).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Working conditions
- Sometimes works under pressure outdoors under varying climate conditions.
- Makes frequent and/or long trips by car. (>60% of the time)
- Some out of state and international travel required.
