Partner Manager, Global Marketing Herbicides

The candidate will be responsible for global management of the business relationships with a set of global seed companies, including but not limited to;
- Representing the BASF herbicide tolerance strategy in a technical and business frame aligning with partners own strategy.
- Negotiating and setting commercial terms for long-term license agreements, based on intellectual property and/or chemistry supply agreements.
- Representing the BASF brand and stewardship requirements.
This position also provides support to regional counterparts in both developed and developing regions to help establish and grow this new business sector.
Specific tasks include:
- Lead negotiations with multiple leading seed partners, to establish development and commercial licenses to herbicide tolerance technology and/or chemistry, for use in herbicide tolerance technology.
- Represent to internal stakeholders the herbicide tolerance business, and assist in establishing global herbicide tolerance strategy development aligned with partners.
- Work with internal Product Development teams to ensure product pipeline is aligned with partner (seed company) needs, participating in Product Development teams to represent global HT needs (for specific crop(s)).
- Develop and manage forecasts with partners, and coordinate with internal customers (BASF regions, HT controller, global functional colleagues etc.).
- Be responsible for the global management of one or more trait asset, which includes development and deployment of an asset management strategy.
- Be responsible for new product launches through development of partner Development and Commercial license relationships, technology transfer, brand development and parallel development of chemistry options/brands and product launch, as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:
BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
Required:
- A Bachelors Degree.
- 7 plus years of relevant professional experience.
- 3 plus years progressive marketing experience, with demonstrated competency in strategic and analytical thinking.
- Marketing and or sales background, including experience with contract basics and legal framework, for licensing and development of contract relationships.
- Willing and able to travel 30 – 35% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
Preferred:
- MBA. - 10 plus years of relevant professional experience.
- 5 plus years progressive marketing experience, with demonstrated competency in strategic and analytical thinking.
- Marketing and or sales background, with strong knowledge of contract basics and legal framework, for licensing and development of contract relationships.
- Experience in a global position.
- Commercial seed and trait related experience.
