We are currently looking for a Corn Breeder for our Champaign, Illinois research location. This position will perform line development and hybrid testing in the 108-116 day maturity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, customer service and professionalism.
• Responsible for promoting a positive image of the company.
• Responsible for line and hybrid development for central Illinois, central Indiana and southern Iowa. 108-116 day.
• Manage finishing of biotech conversions for material within the breeding program.
• Coordinate with Champaign Station Manager the efficient use of nursery & testing resources for multiple breeding programs located at the Champaign Station.
• Assist Champaign Station Manager in managing budget for the station to attain the objectives.
• Assist Champaign Station Manager in the supervision of yield trial and nursery programs at the Champaign Station.
• Specific assignments of full and part time employees will be made when person begins.
• Attend Product Development Meetings with the brands as needed, such as new product presentations & NET tours.
• Participate on request any Brand Sales meetings at the station or off station.
• Some international travel required
• Other duties as needed

Duties and responsibilities may be revised as needed by the Director of Southern Breeding and/or Vice President of Research either verbally and/or in writing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• PhD in Plant Breeding, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, or related discipline.
