ALMACO, the leading manufacturer of specialized agricultural equipment, is excited to be hiring a Quality Tester who will perform field tests on ALMACO research equipment for a final check before it is shipped to the client.
We are looking for an individual who has experience with operating seed research planters and combines in the field and a great understanding of how this machinery works to make sure that the equipment we ship works perfectly when leaving our facility.
Responsibilities of this position:
- Performs field tests and stress tests on ALMACO agricultural research equipment (combines and planters) to test the overall durability and performance of each machine. This includes driving the machine in the field and operating them in a way that customers would use the equipment.
- Visually evaluates each piece of equipment to ensure that all functions and options work individually and as a system.
- Reviews custom options and variability to make sure that the equipment produced meets customer requests.
Requirements of the position:
- Previous experience using and/or servicing ALMACO research equipment or similar products. (Previous experience as a Research Assistant, Equipment Manager, or experience in equipment teams is desired.)
- An Associates Degree or Trade School certification in a mechanical field preferred. (High School diploma or equivalent is required.)
- Excellent communication skills required to resolve, discuss, and explain technical information.
- Proven attention to detail and ability to read schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical information.
- The ability to work indoors and outdoors, and adequate hearing and vision required to read instructions, conduct auditory and visual tests and perform hands on work with complex mechanical equipment.
