Job Description:  Responsible for implementing, developing and managing Quality Assurance/Quality Control responsibilities with focus on providing high quality products, processes and procedures in order to meet the goals of the company and the needs of our customers.

Ensures all testing protocols, methods, evaluations, interpretations and reporting meet company standards and are in compliance with state, federal and international seed regulatory requirements.  Supervises and monitors seed quality testing procedures and staff while coordinating testing at multiple sites to develop, document, and implement new testing procedures. Represents VoloAgri interests at a corporate industry level by managing effective communication and interaction with research, product development, production, sales, inventory, and customer service departments to provide high quality products.   This position will report to the VP of Operations and will be a member of the Operations Management Team.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the seed industry.
• Understanding of Seed Quality Testing including Genetic Purity, Trait Purity, Vigor and Off-Types.
• Familiarity and knowledge of National and International Seed Laws and Quality Standards.
• Strong pathology knowledge.
• Experience in an international work environment; ability to deal with various and diverse cultures and work habits.
• Understanding of vendor management practices including referee test design and analysis and auditing procedures.
• Experience in seed quality testing.
• Extensive use of Microsoft Office Suite products.

Education:

• B.S. or advanced degree in Seed Science, Horticulture or related field. Ten years of QC/QA vegetable seed industry knowledge.

Position:  Full time

Compensation:  Salary based on experience with a competitive benefits package.

Location:  San Luis Obispo, CA; Travel on an as need basis.
