DESCRIPTION:
BASF Corporation is looking for an energetic motivated individual that is interested joining a dynamic team developing solutions to meet the challenges facing the crop protection industry.
BASF Corporation in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina is headquarters for the BASF Crop Protection NAFTA Division, BASF Plant Science L.L.C. BASF Global Insecticide Research, and BASF Global Agricultural Research and Development.
This position will primarily support the NAFTA business with some support for global initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Guiding the establishment of a research and accompanying public relations program that will clearly demonstrate the benefits for BASF's products. Find new and innovative industry approaches for identifying and promoting benefits.
- Leading cross-departmental multidisciplinary teams with the ultimate goal of drafting Public Interest Documents (PID), reduced risk rationales or other use benefit responses needed to respond to EPA OPP and other Authorities. This will require the coordination and participation of internal units including but not limited to Technical Service, Biology, Marketing and Regulatory as well as external support from sources such as regulatory consultants, commodity groups, academic experts and extension.
- Participating on teams evaluating compounds being considered for full development for registerability. Specific accountability on these teams will be for evaluating potential for positive benefits findings by authorities primarily the US EPA .
QUALIFICATIONS - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
REQUIREMENTS:
- MS Degree or PhD in an agricultural field (e.g., agronomy, horticulture, plant pathology, entomology, etc.).
- 5 10 years field experience in Technical Service, Biology, Project Management or Agrochemical Marketing
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Excellent interpersonal / negotiation skills and ability to communicate with range of audiences
- Advanced knowledge of agricultural and specialty products and pesticide industry in general
DESIRED:
- PhD with 8 years of experience in relevant field(s)
- Experience in pesticide regulatory affairs
