We are currently seeking to fill the position of Global Quality Manager, Seed at our Research Triangle Park, NC location.
The Global Quality Manager, Seed is responsible for the implementation of the Clearfield Care Protocols (CCP), a Quality Management Program that mitigates the risk of genetically modified plant’s adventitious presence (AP) in Clearfield seed and provides diagnostic support for the 3rd party laboratory accreditation for herbicide tolerant (HT) Clearfield trait testing. The CCPs are aimed at Clearfield seed partners and are implemented globally for all non-genetically modified herbicide tolerant crops. This position would be equally split between the implementation of the CCPs and the diagnostic support of those protocols. The Global Quality Manager will work externally with approved customers to provide diagnostic support to BASF and approved customers, and internally with global marketing managers, development managers and analytics managers to implement appropriate procedures and obtain and analyze results.
QUALIFICATIONS: - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years related experience or Master’s degree with 4 years related experience in Agricultural Science, Agribusiness, Life Sciences or related area .
- Familiarity with molecular techniques applicable to the assessment of seed purity, including detection of adventitious presence
- At least 2 years' experience in seed production or field seed research.
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently
- Travel approximately 25% - Including International Travel!
Preferred:
- Quality Management (ISO experience) or Risk Management experience in the agricultural seed industry
- Knowledge of international regulation regarding seed biotechnology
- Experience in Non-Conformance/ Continuous Improvement processes
- Knowledge of crop genetics and breeding approaches
- Multi lingual helpful, preferably Spanish or Portuguese.
