SPD Inside Sales Manager

Location: Research Triangle Park, NC

DESCRIPTION:

The SPD Inside Sales Manager ensures that territories meet and exceed objectives and sales goals in both the T&O and Pest Control Markets.

It is the responsibility of the SPD Inside Sales Manager to develop and coach the inside sales team on required competencies, and develop both professionally and personally within their job roles.

The SPD Inside Sales Manager also ensures that business relationships are developed with key "B" end users and outside sales personnel.

The SPD Inside Sales Manager will also represent the Inside Sales force for communicating between the field and the Management Team and other home office functional groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and control the different regions in the US, committing to a set of business objectives, and meeting or exceeding all agreed upon goals
  • Implement an agreed upon set of measurements for the inside sales team that are consistent and in line with our budgeted commitments
  • Assess and develop the correct skill sets within the inside sales organization to achieve BASF Corporate vision
  • Ensure clear and agreed upon priorities are established within the inside sales group and mentor the inside sales representatives' on their territory management
  • Ensure a coherent and open communication strategy is in place and implemented in the business
  • Create a team environment throughout all departments within SPD
  • Personally accept responsibility for growing respective “B” level accounts not called on by our outside sales force by coordinating action plans with each inside sales representative
  • Proactively ensure market and customer information is transferred to all relevant BASF employees(This will include assisting in the sales forecasting, strategic planning and budget processes.)
  • Ensure our receivables are in line with our budget commitments and create action plans for discrepancies

QUALIFICATIONS:

BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years supervisory experience or equivalent work experience
  • 6 10 years of sales, account management or related work experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer skills including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong motivational Skills
  • Candidate must be willing to travel 20 30% within the United States

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years of marketing experience or other related work experience
  • Strong understanding of the turf, ornamental, lawncare and pest control industry or other related industry experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience within inside sales
