Market Manager Senior

Location: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA

BASF Agricultural Products is seeking a Crop Protection Market Manager to:

  • Lead the development of BASF's business in assigned market. Including developing a clear business plan, identification and tracking of plan metrics, financial objectives, and implementation of strategies and tactics with sales, technical service and senior management
  • Monitor and analyze market and customer dynamics and their impacts to the established market strategy and life cycle management priorities
  • Lead the development and update of product concepts detailing mid and long-term strategies for lead market segments and prepare project plans for approval
  • Manage assigned business segment including, operational forecasting, coordinating supply requirements with market developments
  • Lead and coach a team of product managers in their development and implementation of product business plans
  • Lead the development and implementation of a cross-group, go-to-market project
  • Lead the personal development including coaching, mentoring, and identification of development opportunities with the assigned team of product managers
  • Identify and recruit, and development talent for positions within the marketing group and BASF
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and implement specific 3rd party opportunities
  • Participate in ongoing customer interaction to help position BASF and our products

QUALIFICATIONS:

BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

REQUIRED:

  • BS in business, agronomy or related field. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
  • 10 plus years of experience in marketing, sales, business development and/or technical support experience
  • Business acumen, and ability to strategically analyze global reaching factors and summarize into concise, creative business plans to reach financial goals
  • Experience in 3rd party negotiations involving complex intellectual property rights
  • Travel requirement 50%, primarily domestic

DESIRED:

  • MS degree or MBA. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
  • 5 plus years of experience in the agri-business industry
  • 3 plus years of headquarters experience in marketing and/or business development, or served on advisory boards at company headquarters working across teams and across boundaries
  • Experience in global markets or international environments
  • Broader experience across industry segments including understanding of seed and adjuvants businesses
  • Team leadership experience
  • Product launch experience
