Job description:

• Optimize efficiency and output of the breeding program.
• Advise, propose and inform both the R&D and M&S teams regarding long and short term Pepper or Lettuce breeding strategy.
• Giving feedback and developing proposals about the breeding program in order to facilitate divisional and corporate decisions making.
• Formulate, design, implement and execute a breeding plan by managing a continuous process of crop improvement in line with the breeding strategy.
• Identify opportunities from different fields of research and integrate them in the breeding program.
• Translate market requirements and future needs into new products.
• Formulate and determine the breeding goals, and translate them into a continuous flow of commercially successful varieties.
• Manage, support and direct the breeding team in all the breeding locations.

Required experience:

• MSc/PhD in plant breeding or genetics
• Two years of experience in Plant breeding
• In depth working knowledge of horticulture, agronomy, genetics, pathology, statistics, physiology and molecular genetics.
